"Essex County Council are planning to remove this crossing. This is to make cars and lorries go faster.

"By doing so it will endanger the lives of pedestrians and cyclists. No detaills of definite alternatives have emerged. You can expect therefore to have to cross this road without assistance at your own risk or make a long detour."
