I large covered cycle parking within the grounds of B&Q, not sure why they have it, if it was there before B&Q? but is disused & a dumping ground for the company. be interested to know why its there.
Cycle parking, hidden away now Costa has been built & only cycle parking in whole shopping complex so lots of walking if you want shops on the other side.

There's some cycle parking (and a lot of disabled car parking) by this gate to Colchester's Castle Park, and none at the next gate to the east.
No cycling (and no dogs) in the upper part of Colchester's Castle Park, fair enough, but it'd be good to have eg an east-west route along the line of the Roman Wall.

Awfully maintained and signed shared-use path into Colchester - this is the first sign that cycling is allowed, with nothing at the start of this path.
Pedestrian route around roundabout entering Colchester from the A12 - needs improving for cyclists. The path goes to the left - cyclists towards the town centre have to turn right on the road.
